Rassada Pier in Phuket. This is the main place from which ferries depart to Phi Phi and one of the most lively ports with a lot of traffic, especially in morning hours and around noon.

Location of Rassada Pier

Rassada Pier is located in the West of the island, next to Phuket Town, in front of Koh Sirey. Rassada Pier is really small, the tickets are sold just by few companies in different places.

Tips for Rassada Pier

It’s a paradox, but in order to arrive to Phi Phi, you don’t need to come to the Pier to book a ticket, because they are much more expensive here – starting at 500 THB one way. It turns out to be much cheaper buying them in one of the tourist agencies at the island. In this case they will cost 300 THB one way, and around 550 THB for return trip, and this price includes hotel transfer fees. Also, your return ticket has open date, so you don’t need to plan your return trip in advance.

You will only have to buy tickets straight at Rassada if you land in Phuket airport and want to head to Phi Phi straight away. In this case, you need to know that the ferries function only before 14.30. Normal high schedule schedule season includes ferries for 8.30, 11.00, 13.30 and 14.30. In low season (mid April to end of October) there are two ferries a day, and you will have to check the availability at the spot.

How to get to Rassada Pier?

If you get on your own, move from Phuket Town along Phang Nga Road to Surin Street. Turn right, drive 150-200 meters and at the traffic light turn left onto Sri Sena street. On it you need to drive a little more than a kilometer before turning right to the port (follow the signs). Somewhere a kilometer along this road - and you are at the paddock of seedlings.

Also, there is a pink bus from Phuket Town.

Chalong Pier

Chalong Pier is one of the main Piers in Phuket, and, unlike Rassada, it has no ferries or large ships , but it’s a place for small speed boats, which can take you to practically any islands to the south of Phuket. The prices for these boats are also affordable.

Getting from Chalong Pier costs:

  • 750 THB to Phi-Phi
  • 1500 THB to Koh Lanta
  • 1750 THB to Koh Ngai and Koh Muk
  • 1950 THB to Koh Kradan and Koh Libong
  • 2400 THB to Koh Lipe
  • 3500 THB to Malaysian Lagkavi

Speed boats with a transfer from the airport, hotel or a bus station are also available. The price for the transfer increases by approximately 200 THB in this case.

Location of Chalong Pier

Chalong Pier is located in South West part of Phuket not far from the famous beaches of Kata, Karn, Nai Harn and Ravai.

How to get to Chalong Pier?

One can get to Chalong Pier by taxi or Pink buses from Phuket Town or blue buses coming from the beach. The buses go to Chalong transport ring, which is approximately two minutes walk from the Pier.
