Thailand is one of the few full-year resorts. The country is wide – from north to south, and is located close to the equator, which makes the climate in it very attractive for spending long hours at the beach. However, one must realize that the fact that the country is so wide from north to south results in big differences in weather in different parts of the country. Hence, some resorts are better to visit in one part of the year, whereas other resorts are better to be seen in other time.

High season in Thailand

High season almost everywhere in Thailand starts in November and ends in May. In this time you will see the biggest flow of tourists and the highest raise of prices for tourist destinations. The weather in this period is not too hot, there are almost no precipitations, the sky is almost always super clean, which makes perfect conditions for staying at the beach or traveling for excursions. The only minus we can name are relatively high prices and a big flow of Russian tourists. However, there are so many different types of tourists in Thailand... This place is ideal for family couples with children, young people, homosexual people, and people of all religions and political views. Most tourists come to Thailand from China, Russia, Australia, South Korea, and Sweden. The busiest season is around Christmas holidays. The prices in this period are on average 40% higher than in the low season.

Beach season on Phuket

The temperature of water in the Andaman sea is on average +28 - +30 deg. C all year round. Thus, the temperature of the sea is comfortable for swimming any time, however, in rainy season the waves are so high, that probably it won’t be enjoyable. Although, even then you can find perfect beaches, such as Nay Yong Beach, Paradise, Kata, or Panva. But if to talk about resting at the beach, the best time is surely winter months, when the weather is not windy and when the sea is crystal clean.

Surfing season

Surfing has come to Phuket relatively recently, and this sport is now only starting to be more popular. The best spots are at the West shore of the island. People do it from July to October, when the blowing winds cause waves of 2-3 meters tall.

Diving season

West coast is very attractive for those who like the beauty of underwater nature. There are lots of beautiful bright fishes in the sea, as well as other sea creatures. There are diving centers operating separately or under 4* or 5* hotels. Diving safaris at the islands around Phuket are especially popular. The best time for doing it is from November till May. The most beautiful Similan islands are best for diving from February till May, during the period of migration of big ocean fish.

You should plan your vacation on Phuket according to what you like doing and looking at what weather conditions are most comfortable to you. We wish you a pleasant journey to Thailand!
